Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino has lambasted his players' lack of concentration as the major contributing factor to dropping two points in the 1-1 draw with Valladolid this afternoon.

Luis Garcia’s goal just after half-time had looked as though it would be enough to grant the Blanc-i-blau the victory, but an injury-time leveler from Haris Medunjanin handed the visitors a share of the spoils and left Pochettino frustrated by his side's inability to close out the match.

Speaking to journalists afterwards, he said, “We know we should have taken more advantage of this game. We thought we had the three points so we began to drop deeper.

“The anger and disappointment of the fans is logical – we took the victory for granted.”

Pochettino also reacted angrily towards questions regarding the future of striker Raul Tamudo. It had been suggested that the former Spanish international could be set to cancel his contract to seal a move to Wigan Athletic, but the coach refused to discuss the issue further.

“I am not going to go into this subject any more. It is a tedious subject,” He said.
